Lee Kuan Yew's condition 'largely unchanged': PMO

Lee Kuan Yew's condition remains "largely unchanged", a statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said on Friday morning.

"Mr. Lee Kuan Yew's condition remains largely unchanged since the last update on Feb 28, 2015. The doctors continue to monitor his condition,'' the statement said.

Mr Lee, 91, has been at the Singapore General Hospital since Feb 5 when he was admitted for severe pneumonia. He remains in intensive care.

The father of current Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and one of the founding members of The People's Action Party, Mr Lee has been accredited with the extraordinary transformation of Singapore's economy. He served as prime minister from 1959, stepped down in 1990 in favour of his deputy Goh Chok Tong, who in turn handed power to Lee Hsien Loong in 2004.
