Lee Kuan Yew's condition 'worsens' due to infection

    THE health of Singapore's founding prime minister Lee Kuan Yew has taken a turn for the worse.

    In a brief statement on Tuesday, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said that the 91-year-old's condition has "worsened" due to an infection. "He is on antibiotics. The doctors are closely monitoring his condition," the statement said of the country's first prime minister, who served for 31 years until 1990.
