Looks like a soft Brexit for now
Fine print of initial deal indicates that Irish border issue may bring about softish Brexit
London
THE fine print of last week's UK agreement with the European Union (EU), indicates that the UK government is leaning towards a "soft Brexit".
The wording relates to a temporary solution to the Irish border issue with Northern Ireland, ie that the UK could continue to be aligned with the EU single market and customs union. The first stage of Brexit has thus been completed. Assuming the 27 European Union (EU) leaders agree this week, trade talks will begin early in the New Year.
