Lotte chairman Shin Dong Bin to be summoned by prosecutors
[SEOUL] Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong Bin will be summoned Tuesday by South Korean prosecutors as part of an investigation into alleged corruption at the retail giant, according to a spokesperson.
Mr Shin is scheduled to appear before the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' office at 9am on Tuesday, said the Lotte Group spokesperson, who asked not to be named because of internal policy and declined to comment on other details.
The summon comes a couple of weeks after prosecutors questioned his father and elder brother as investigators resume their probe into slush funds, embezzlement and tax evasion at the group.
Last month, the group's vice chairman was found dead hours before he was scheduled to be questioned by prosecutors.
