Manpower Minister pushes back on perception that foreign workers are now less welcome

MINISTER for Manpower Tan See Leng on Tuesday (Mar 1) addressed planned policy tweaks that affect low-wage workers and companies with foreign employees, in the second day of the Budget debate.
While acknowledging cost and hiring concerns around higher work pass qualifying salaries and other tighter foreign manpower policies, the minister pushed back on the perception that foreign workers are now less welcome.
