MANY newspapers around the world are struggling to retain their readership and maintain revenues, with some even resorting to publishing unverified stories to compete with other publications.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said this on Sunday, as he lauded Berita Harian for keeping its journalistic integrity and prudence, and for reporting "accurately, responsibly and from a national perspective".
