Malaysia frees North Korean suspect in Kim assassination
[KUALA LUMPUR] Malaysia has freed a North Korean suspect in the assassination of the half-brother of leader Kim Jong Un, the attorney general said Thursday, a day after two women were charged with his murder.
Ri Jong Chol was held in police detention for almost two weeks following the assassination of Kim Jong Nam at Kuala Lumpur on February 13.
"He will be released. He is a free man. His remand expires and there is insufficient evidence to charge him," said Mohamed Apandi Ali. "He will be deported tomorrow."
