Malaysia power struggle unlikely to see major shift in policy direction

    MALAYSIA is set to have its third government in as many years following Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's resignation on Monday after a turbulent 17 months in office, but major differences in broad policy direction are not expected with populist measures likely to remain, analysts said.

    On Tuesday afternoon, Malaysia's king met political party chiefs as the hunt began for a new leader after Mr Muhyiddin and his Cabinet stepped down.
