MALAYSIA reported its biggest single-day increase in Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began, adding pressure on the government to do more after imposing nationwide curbs on movement this month.
The country had 6,075 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, with the nation's richest state Selangor contributing the most number of new infections with 2,251 cases, according to health director-general Noor Hisham Abdullah in a tweet. This was followed by the southern state of Johor at 699 and the capital city of Kuala Lumpur at 660, he said.
