Malaysians withdraw RM28.8b from pension fund in 2014

A GROWING number of contributors to Malaysia's largest private-sector pension fund, the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), have been withdrawing their contributions. They include those who have emigrated.
Under the "leaving country" scheme for withdrawals, 3,098 members withdrew RM303.6 million (S$101.7 million) or an average of RM98,000 each in 2014, according to the EPF's website.
