[KUALA LUMPUR] Malaysia's consumer price index in December rose 2.7 per cent from a year earlier, as soaring domestic food prices from the worst flood in decades offset the effects of falling fuel prices, data from the Statistics Department showed on Wednesday.
A Reuters poll had forecast an annual inflation rate of 2.8 per cent last month, down from 3 per cent in November.
