Malaysia's export growth seen picking up in April, imports rebound

[KUALA LUMPUR] Malaysia's April exports likely grew at a slightly faster pace than the previous month helped by a rise in commodity prices, a Reuters poll showed.

The median forecast of economists polled was for exports in April to rise 2.0 per cent from a year earlier, picking up from 0.2 per cent in March.

Imports in April were expected to grow 0.8 per cent from a year earlier, recovering from a 5.5 per cent decline the previous month.

Malaysia's April's trade surplus was seen at RM7.6 billion (S$2.58 billion), down from RM11.2 billion the previous month.
