Malaysia's July exports up 31%, led again by manufactured goods

MALAYSIA'S export performance in July continued to grow apace expanding by nearly 31 per cent year-on-year to RM79 billion (S$25.2 billion), led by higher exports of manufacturing sector products.
Exports of manufactured goods amounted to RM65 billion, with electrical and electronic exports (RM28 billion) maintaining the lead position accounting for 35.5 per cent of total exports. Petroleum products (RM7 billion) were a distant second, making up 9 per cent of total exports, followed by chemical and chemical products (RM5.7 billion).
