Malaysia's Q3 GDP growth slows to 4.7 % year on year, meets forecast
[KUALA LUMPUR] Malaysia's economy grew 4.7 per cent in the third quarter from a year ago, its slowest rate in over two years, but meeting analyst expectations.
Growth has been on a downtrend this year, having expanded by 5.6 per cent in the first quarter and 4.9 per cent in the second quarter.
The median forecast in a Reuters poll was for annual gross domestic product (GDP) growth to slow to 4.7 per cent in the third quarter. It was the slowest rate of growth since the second quarter of 2013.
