Malaysia's September factory output growth forecast to slow slightly: poll
[KUALA LUMPUR] Malaysia's factory output growth will likely moderate slightly in September, even as the manufacturing sector continues to perform well, a Reuters poll showed.
Industrial production in September is expected to rise 6.1 per cent from a year earlier, the median forecast of 10 economists showed, slowing slightly from the previous month.
Factory output grew 6.8 per cent in August from a year earlier, higher than forecast on strong performance in the manufacturing, electricity and mining sectors.
Malaysia's September exports grew 14.8 per cent from a year earlier, below economists' estimates and sharply down from 21.5 per cent in August despite strong demand for manufactured goods in China and Europe.
