Manpower plan for food services sector launched to transform industry

    JOB redesign, building a strong Singaporean core and beefing up human resource capabilities will form key strategies to develop a future-ready workforce for the food-and-beverage (F&B) industry. These have been highlighted as the key initiatives for the sectoral manpower plan for the food services sector.

    Developed by Spring Singapore and the Workforce Development Agency (WDA) in consultation with industry stakeholders and unions, the plan is a part of the Industry Transformation Map that was launched at Budget 2016. The five-year blueprint aims to reduce reliance on manual labour and build skills for local workers to progress in the food services sector, said Spring Singapore and WDA in a joint news release.
