THE arrest and remand of Isa Samad, former chairman of the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) and current acting chairman of Spad (Land Public Transport Commission), has been greeted mostly with ambivalence by Malaysians.
A former chief minister of Negri Sembilan and an Umno warlord, Isa was arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency in connection with Felda's purchase of two luxury hotels in London and Kuching at what were alleged to be above market prices.
