Kuala Lumpur
THE Malaysian government has decided to lift the Movement Control Order (MCO) and place Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor and Penang under Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) from March 5.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Ismail Sabri said on Tuesday that Negri Sembilan, Kelantan, Perak, Kedah and Sarawak will remain under CMCO, the New Straits Times reported.
"Other states, Melaka, Pahang, Terengganu, Sabah, Putrajaya and Labuan, which are currently under CMCO, will be placed under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO)."
Both phases of the CMCO and RMCO in the relevant states will begin from March 5 to 18.
Previously, all states in the country except for Sarawak were placed under MCO from Jan 22 to Feb 4 to curb the spread of Covid-19. Then it was extended to Feb 18.
