THE eight-year long global equity bull market has boosted the wealth of the Asian-Pacific rich and super-rich to extraordinary levels.
Capgemini's latest Asian-Pacific Wealth report estimates that the numbers of high net worth individuals (HNWI) surged by 400,000 to 5.5 million in 2016. Their wealth rose by 8.2 per cent from US$17.4 trillion in 2015 to US$18.8 trillion. These staggeringly high figures compare with 3.3 million people in 2010, with assets valued at US$10.8 trillion.
