MPs show support for collective unions for PMEs
Singapore
PROFESSIONALS, managers and executives (PMEs) in Singapore may soon be collectively represented by unions while individually, they could also be eligible for limited representation on re-employment matters.
The 2014 Industrial Relations (Amendment) Bill was debated during its second reading in parliament on Monday, with MPs providing wide support for the proposed changes, which they feel will strengthen the tripartite partnership as it becomes more relevant to include a growing number of PMEs in Singapore.
