My encounter with lingering tear gas

    Published Wed, Oct 1, 2014 · 09:50 PM

EVEN after it clears, tear gas will leave lingering chemical crystals in the air.

I discovered this as I walked on a familiar highway towards the city's business centre in the midst of Hong Kong's massive democracy protest.

I was spared the effects of being directly gassed - tears, sharp pain and even vomiting - but still I could feel the crystal-like particles piercing my nasal lining and my breath getting laboured.
