PRIME Minister Najib Razak has pledged that Malaysia's public debt would be kept at a manageable level, amid suspicions that it is growing while parked under special vehicles, potentially putting the economy in peril in the longer term.
Speaking during question time in Parliament on Tuesday, a day after delivering the country's Budget 2017, he reiterated the government's commitment to maintaining the debt level at below its self-imposed ceiling of 55 per cent of the gross domestic product (GDP).
