New CEO to helm Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City developer
THERE will be a change in leadership of a developer that manages a government-to-government project between Singapore and China in Tianjin.
Starting Oct 1, Tay Lim Heng will be the chief executive officer of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Investment and Development Co (SSTEC), Keppel Corporation announced on Tuesday.
Mr Tay will take over from Liew Choon Boon, who has resigned for personal reasons, it said.
Mr Tay will hold the concurrent appointment as adviser on Eco-City matters in Singapore's Ministry of National Development (MND).
Mr Tay is currently the director of group risk and compliance at Keppel Corp. Prior to this, he had held various positions in the Keppel Group, and also served as deputy secretary (development) at MND, where his responsibilities included overseeing the development of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City.
The Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City is a high-level government-to-government project between China and Singapore to build a modern, green township that is socially harmonious, environmentally friendly and resource-efficient.
SSTEC, the master developer of the 30-sq-km Eco-City, is a 50/50 joint venture between a Singapore Consortium led by the Keppel Group and a Chinese Consortium led by Tianjin Teda Investment Holding Co.
