New Zealand wage growth remains subdued

    [WELLINGTON] Statistics New Zealand said on Wednesday that the country's wage growth remains subdued in a period of slow consumer inflation.

    Private sector wage inflation totaled 0.4 per cent in the June quarter and 1.6 per cent compared to the same quarter a year earlier.

    Economists polled by Reuters had forecast that private sector wage growth would increase 0.5 per cent on the quarter and 1.8 per cent on the year.
