New Zealand's second-quarter unemployment rate dips slightly

[WELLINGTON] New Zealand jobless rate fell to 5.1 per cent in the second quarter, according to data released Statistics New Zealand Wednesday.

Quarter-on-quarter employment growth was 2.4 per cent while the participation rate was 69.7 per cent. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast an unemployment rate of 5.3 per cent and employment growth of 0.6 per cent. They had also tipped a participation rate of 68.8 per cent.
