PRIME Minister Lee Hsien Loong is in Bangkok for a two-day visit to pay his respects to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej at the Grand Palace.

While in the Thai capital, Mr Lee will also meet Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to express his condolences on the passing of the world's longest-reigning monarch.

In a statement, the Prime Minister's Office said that Mr Lee is accompanied by his wife Ho Ching and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The revered King Bhumibol was on the throne for seven decades until his death at Siriraj Hospital last Thursday at the age of 88.
