EVEN though the Republicans now have full control of the United States Congress after the recent mid-term elections, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong remains positive that it can work together with US President Barack Obama for the remainder of his term.

"From the point of view of governing the US, it means that the Democrat President must work with a thoroughly Republican Congress, both the Senate and the House (of Representatives)," he told Singapore journalists on Sunday when asked if the Nov 5 election results would affect Mr Obama's much-touted pivot to the Asia-Pacific region.
