EVEN as The Straits Times adapts and hunts for new ways to produce a high-quality and commercially successful product, it must remain conscious of the "important role" it has in Singapore today.
Making this point on Wednesday, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong stressed that the newspaper - the English flagship daily of Singapore Press Holdings - had to continue to maintain its hallmark of "credible, balanced and objective reporting".
