Poland scrambles fighter jets amid Russian attack on Ukraine
Warsaw puts air defence systems and radar reconnaissance assets on alert
POLAND has scrambled its fighter jets and put ground-based air defence systems and radar reconnaissance on a state of readiness in the early hours of Monday (Jun 15) following Russia’s air attacks on Ukraine, Poland’s Armed Forces said in a post on X.
“These actions are of a preventive nature and are aimed at securing and protecting the airspace, particularly in areas adjacent to the threatened regions,” the post said.
Russia is attacking Kyiv and other areas in Ukraine. REUTERS
