Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong resumes National Day Rally speech after taking ill

PRIME Minister Lee Hsien Loong resumed speaking at the National Day rally at 10.40pm, to a standing ovation. The rally was suspended after he took ill around 9.15pm, during the English portion of his speech.
On his return to the stage, he quipped that he had never had so many doctors look at him at once before.
"They think I'm alright, but anyway I'm going to have a full checkup after this," he said, before continuing with his speech.
Before the National Day Rally was resumed, an update from Mr Lee's Twitter account had said: "PM was feeling unsteady because of prolonged standing, heat and dehydration. His heart is fine and he did not have a stroke."
According to The Straits Times, Member of Parliament Alex Yam later told reporters after the rally that Mr Lee was on his way to the Singapore General Hospital for a check-up.
