[SYDNEY] Australia's central bank is concerned the spread of the Delta variant could slow the economy's recovery once coronavirus lockdowns start to ease, though it still expects strong growth to resume next year.
Minutes of the Reserve Bank of Australia's (RBA) September policy meeting showed the Board considered delaying a planned tapering of its bond-buying programme, but instead decided to press ahead and to extend it to at least February.
Further out, the Board still sees no hike in the 0.1 per cent cash rate until 202, given sluggishness in wages and inflation.
