Immediately after the AGM, the new council held its first meeting and elected officeholders, including chairman Lim.
Noting that SBF celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, Lim said: “It is with the strong support of many past and present council members, business leaders, and industry partners, that we have managed to deliver different programmes and services to our members.”
“Our 7 outgoing council members have served the Federation well, providing insights into business concerns and developments to shape our work,” he added.
Lim said that he looked forward to “working closely with council members to keep a close watch on the fast-evolving changes in our business landscape” and support SBF members in their business goals and aspirations.
Following the AGM, more than 140 SBF members engaged with Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong in a ministerial dialogue moderated by new council member Ang of Klareco Communications, in which the minister shared his views on the Singapore Economy 2030 vision.
The vision includes accelerating the development of new engines of growth in services; building up a strong manufacturing sector; strengthening the core capabilities of local enterprises and growing a pool of Singapore global enterprises; and enhancing trade and strengthening the Republic’s connectivity to the world.
