SG Budget 2017: S$110m to boost CPF Housing Grant; raise bursary amounts

THE government will spend an additional S$110 million per year to boost the CPF Housing Grant scheme, Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat said on Monday.
It will increase the CPF Housing Grant from S$30,000 to S$50,000 for couples who buy four-room or smaller resale flats, and from S$30,000 to S$40,000 for couples who buy flats that have five rooms, or are larger resale flats.
The government will also increase bursary amounts for post-secondary education institutions, to a total of S$150 million per year, up from about S$100 million now.
