The Finance Minister also explains that the government is guided by the need to plan long-term and to be adaptable

THE new Scale-Up SG programme is not about the government "picking winners", but rather, partnering firms that are willing to transform, Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat said in his Budget round-up speech on Thursday.
Replying to Member of Parliament Liang Eng Hwa's concern, the minister said: "The customised support that we provide is available to companies that show ambition and are willing to take the effort to transform themselves, to scale up quickly."
