SINGAPORE Changi Airport handled 4.67 million passenger movements in February 2017, up 1.5 per cent from a year ago.
Among Changi's top 10 country markets, India posted the strongest growth of 14 per cent, with traffic to Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi contributing to the increase. Traffic growth to Indonesia and Vietnam was also steady for the month, up 4 per cent in both cases.
Aircraft movements dipped 1.7 per cent to 28,030 landings and takeoffs, while cargo shipments rose 7.9 per cent to reach 146, 870 tonnes, compared to the same period last year.
As at March 1, more than 100 airlines operated at Changi Airport, connecting Singapore to some 380 cities in about 90 countries and territories worldwide. With more than 7,000 weekly scheduled flights, an aircraft takes off or lands at Changi roughly once every 90 seconds.
