Singapore gets first case of Zika
PR who had travelled to Sao Paulo is under isolation and treatment at Tan Tock Seng's CDC

THE first case of the Zika virus has been reported in Singapore.
In a joint statement, the Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Environment Agency (NEA) said they were informed of the confirmed case on Friday. The patient is a 48-year-old male Singapore permanent resident who had been in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from March 27 to May 7. On Tuesday, he developed a fever and a rash, and was admitted to Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital on Thursday, where he was isolated.
