    THE future of Singapore lies in its ability to be an innovative economy, says Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

    Speaking at a dinner on Wednesday night to celebrate the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School's 50th anniversary, Mr Tharman said the Republic has to "earn our place" in the world through innovation at all levels.
