Singapore ranks 7th in global innovation index

SINGAPORE was ranked seventh among the world's most innovative countries and first in South-east Asia, according to the Global Innovation Index 2017.
The city-state slipped one spot from sixth place last year in the annual global rankings which saw Switzerland retaining the top spot for the seventh year in a row.
Key findings showed India emerging as an innovation centre in Asia as well as a relatively high innovation performance in Sub-Saharan Africa, the report highlighted.
The index was co-authored by Cornell University, Insead and the World Intellectual Property Organization.
