SINGAPORE will update its workplace safety and health strategy as workers age, and as other workplace stresses may come about from adopting new technology, Manpower Minister Lim Swee Say said on Sunday.
This comes as Singapore's efforts in reducing the fatality rate to 1.8 per 100,000 workers by 2018 have been dismal. Mr Lim pointed out that 26 workers have lost their lives since the start of 2016, eight more than in the same period last year, or an increase of 40 per cent.
