Strong Japan-India ties can beef up Asian stability, says Modi

INDIAN Prime Minister Narendra Modi, now on a visit to Japan, has suggested that strong and expanding economic and strategic ties between India and Japan can be a stabilising factor in Asia and beyond.

Speaking to Japanese business leaders in Tokyo on Friday, he urged them to invest in India. He also claimed the 21st century as Asia's century, and said that the growing convergence of views between Japan and India and their "special strategic and global partnership" will drive regional economic development and stimulate global growth.
