ONE day after troubled 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund issued conflicting statements on a US$3.5 billion payment, Swiss authorities have weighed in and appeared to have shed some light on the matter.
The Office of the Attorney-General of Switzerland (OAG) revealed on Tuesday that it has extended its criminal probe to two ex-Emirati officials in charge of Abu Dhabi sovereign funds on a litany of suspected offences, including forgery, bribery and money laundering.
