Tan Chok Kian, former POSB chairman, dies at 84

TAN Chok Kian Alphonsus, a former chairman of the beloved Post Office Savings Bank died on Sunday, aged 84. Mr Tan was also a senior civil servant who had served on many ministries and statutory boards in the 70s and 80s.
He was acting deputy secretary for finance (1963); permanent secretary for national development (1970-71); permanent secretary for finance (1972-73) and permanent secretary for social affairs (1977). He retired from the civil service in 1986.
