[WASHINGTON] US President Donald Trump's announcement on imposing punitive import tariffs on another US$200 billion in Chinese goods is expected "soon," a White House official said Monday.
Amid continued trade tensions with the world's second largest economy, Mr Trump "has not been satisfied with the talks with China on this (and) my guess is announcements will be coming soon," economic advisor Larry Kudlow said on CNBC.
Mr Kudlow declined to specify details of the expected announcement but noted that news stories indicating Trump will impose 10 per cent duties on US$200 billion in imports are "more or less correct."
