Thai cabinet approves US$2.77b infrastructure fund
[BANGKOK] Thailand's cabinet approved on Tuesday a plan to set up an infrastructure fund worth 100 billion baht (S$3.9 billion), the finance minister told Reuters.
The fund called "Thailand Future Fund" is expected to be launched within one or two months, Finance Minister Apisak Tantivorawong said after the weekly cabinet meeting.
The army, which seized power in May last year to end months of political turmoil, has focused on ramping up infrastructure projects to lift growth as exports and domestic demand are weak.
