Thai central bank consumption index falls in Dec month-on-month
[BANGKOK] Thailand posted a current account surplus of US$5.52 billion in December, a record high for a month, the central bank said on Friday.
The surplus was US$1.66 billion in November.
The Bank of Thailand's index for private consumption in December fell 0.7 per cent from the previous month, while its index for investment rose 0.1 per cent.
The central bank said exports in December rose 2.3 per cent from a year earlier, compared with a 1.8 per cent fall in November.
