[BANGKOK] Thailand's economy should continue recovering next year due to government stimulus measures and tourism, but high household debt is a burden, the central bank governor said on Thursday.
"The level of household debt is still an issue for the economic recovery to a certain extent. It is still weighing on consumption recovery," Veerathai Santiprabhob told reporters.
He said he also expected higher volatility in the global economy following policies implemented by major countries.
Southeast Asia's second-largest economy has yet to gain traction more than a year after an army coup in May 2014 ended months of political turmoil, with exports and consumption persistently weak.
