Thai Q1 jobless rate drops to 1.53% as Covid-19 curbs eased

    THAILAND’S unemployment rate in the first quarter fell to 1.53 per cent from 1.64 per cent in the previous quarter, the state planning agency said on Monday, following an easing of coronavirus restrictions, and reopening to foreign tourists. The jobless rate was the lowest since the pandemic and there were 610,000 workers without jobs in the March quarter, it said in a statement. REUTERS
