Thailand's vaccine roll-out kicks off amid controversy
Government criticised for tardiness of programme, lack of diversified vaccine imports

THAI Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul received the first shot of China's Covid-19 Sinovac vaccine on Sunday, while Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha was put on hold for his planned dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine as the health ministry completed its quality checks on the British-Swedish vaccine.
The first batches of 200,000 doses of Sinovac and 117,000 of AstraZeneca arrived in Thailand on Feb 24.
