Tharman receives inaugural award for leadership and service in global finance

SENIOR Minister and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam was on Thursday conferred the first Distinguished Leadership and Service Award given by the Institute of International Finance (IIF), the global club for central, commercial and investment bankers.
Mr Tharman, who is in Washington DC for the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, said in a press statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO): "It is my privilege to receive this award from the IIF. It is to the credit of my colleagues at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and in the Singapore Government, and internationally, whom I have been working with to build resilient and growth-oriented financial markets."
