SINGAPORE will continue to invest to stay at the forefront of the biomedical sciences industry, even as the sector generated output of S$21.5 billion last year and employed 16,800 people, said Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
He made the point on Wednesday at a ground-breaking ceremony where drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) said that it would set up a new global headquarters for Asia in Singapore, as it looks to the emerging markets to grow its business.
